There are billions of websites. But how we can say site is of high quality or not.
According my point of view following points should be considered for measuring quality of
websites.
1. Loading speed of website - It should be fast. Loading speed of website should be fast.
Some sites take a lot of time in loading it irritates visitor and increases bounce rate.
2. Design (Look and feel) of website - it should be pleasant and eye appealing. Color scheme
for designing of website depends on the type of website. For professional websites light
pastels give better feel then bright colors. For kids websites color scheme should be bright,
having kiddish look
3. User friendly - website should be user friendly. User should not lost in website. Purpose
of website must be clear and user should get easy accesibility to available resources.
4. Flexible - website should be open properly on all browsers and resolutions. Some websites
open well in some browsers and not in other. Some designs go for a toss if system has
different resolution. Design should be flexible to fit all browsers and resolutions
5. SEO friendly - keywords should be defined for website so that it can be indexed on search
engines.
6. Security - Website should be secure. Some website spread viruses and malware unknowningly.
If visitors system in not protected with antivirus then it may cause fatal problems in
visitors system. Owner must keep on checking the security of website and should take all
possible measures to make site secure.
7. No Broken Links - some website have broken links. When user clicks on link it takes
visitor to page not found. If content is not available then its better not to place link or
not to activate the link. Or message can be given on page that page will be updated soon.
